Go on a laid back camping trip!

    Special Interest: Camping

I Big Bend National Park (Big Bend National Park, TX) is the largest protected area of Chihuahuan Desert topography and ecology.

This park is not very dog friendly. You can take your dog in your car or camping, but they must be leashed on a 6 foot leash and attended at all times. Dogs are NOT allowed on trails, in backcountry or by the river, which limits severely how much you can do with your dog here. The park’s busy season is November through April.

You can take your car on a scenic drive or stay at one of the park’s campgrounds. Maps are available by the National Park Service.

If you want to visit Big Bend National Park, but also want to do more with your dog, consider staying at Big Bend Ranch State Park which is much more dog friendly.
