The Lake Dorothy Trailhead starts 1.9 miles from Lake Dorothy. Stop for a photo at Lake Dorothy with a view of Big Snow Mountain in the background. Be prepared for a lot of stairs. From Lake Dorothy you can hike on to Bear and Deer Lakes, or challenge yourself and go to Snoqualmie Lake. The total distance from the trailhead to Snoqualmie Lake is about 12-13 miles out and back. This area is very popular for camping, fishing, birding, and canoeing. We recommend you read this article before you plan your trip out.

It's best not to go when it is too cold or hot. Pay attention to your dog's abilities and start slow. Remember to take small and steady water breaks to prevent bloat or water intoxication. And don't forget to check the paws! Watch your footing and steer clear of wild animals. Please follow leash laws and have good recall on your dog.
