Carmella Loves to Play Disc!

Carmella has such high prey drive. She loves to chase anything that moves – I guess it is part of her breed\’s natural instinct (patterdale terrier). She had no problem getting into disc. Carmella can go around me to catch a toss, but trying to practice on getting the disc better in her line of sight as she goes to catch it. Any suggestions from anyone?

Carmella Smiling!

Just in after a walk! She looks so happy! 🙂 Makes me happy!

Dogs may be the the perfect running partners: They’re always ready to go, they eagerly keep pace, and they never complain about being tired. But not every dog is built for running. The ideal jogging companion is low-maintenance and obedient, with energy and endurance. These 20 breeds are a great place to start.

Carmella Tries Lure Coursing!

August 2017 – Carmella loves to run so we tried taking her to a CAT 100 fun trial. She basically runs 100 yards after the lure. She really didn\’t get it at first – was more interested in some nearby birds. I think she needs the scent of live prey rather than a plastic bag zooming forward on the ground. In the end she still ran after the lure and clocked in at around 10-11 seconds I think! Not bad for the first time, but I think we reserve lure coursing to the sight hounds! On to try something new Carmella!
